i am old-ish now (27) so i don't know if things have changed or something but when i was a teenager a promise ring is a symbol of his promise to be with you, think of it almost as a baby step towards an engagement ring.
from what i know a purity ring is something more along the lines of a ring your parents would give you. it would symbolize your promise to God, them, and yourself that you will save yourself until marriage.

First of all, your silver jewelry is better off saved in a "tupperware" like container, put the jewelry in cloth bags or in aluminum foil in the container… Always keep your silver jewelery when not in use… also try to change the foil bi-weekly! And clear bags may work too!
To clean silver, you may wanna try this inexpensive home remedy!
Take dampened cloth/sponge and pit some toothpaste, but not the gel type, on it and gently rub gently over the silver!
You may notice that the cloth/sponge becomes darker because of the tarnish… add more toothpaste to the other clean part of the cloth/spong… and continue rubbing it in! Then rinse it with hot water (you may add ammonia to the wash water) and dry it of gently using a soft towel.
I heard WD-40 also works well!

I like newbieblue's answer. The link has a lot of good info. But it is written by a company that sells ionic silver. There is a lot of controversy about which is better.
Ionic silver contains much smaller particles of silver than plain old colloidal silver. The idea is that it is absorbed into the bloodstream more readily. The colloidal silver manufacturers have come to rely on parts-per-million as a measurement of strength: 500ppm vs 10ppm you can get in homemade product. Now the ionic guys are saying particle size is everything and most of their product is only 20ppm, which isn't much.
Anecdotally, both products work well. Even just eating off a silver plate and using a silver spoon puts some bacteria-killing silver into the body. Personally I wouldn't pay a lot more for ionic silver. I work in a natural foods store.

You used an antibacterial hand wash its from Palmolive and the colour is orange. Put some in your hand and clean the necklace with rubbing the palms together and the hand wash will turn green keep doing that unit the green colour stops and let it air dry.
