I purchased a 3 stone engagement ring. The two outside smaller stones were diamonds and the middle larger stone was fake so I had it replaced with a pink sapphire. I have shown and spoken to a couple people and they said that I should leave it. They feel that like myself it is different. Others have said I should have it replaced with a real diamond.

- I’m assuming the “future us” will have even more advanced ways of reading/collecting information and we won’t have large periods of time lag in between methods. Backward compatibility is an interesting issue but one that we have always had issues with understanding past periods of time (languages, cave drawings, etc).
You can teach at a local charter school, which requires no certification. Just keep in mind that you have to abide by their rules and teach the students in a certain method like how the book teaches it. So, you will have limited freedom. However, you will get experience in the education field. I have taught at two charter high schools, but I am going back to school for my MA and maybe a pHD to teach college students.

You want to use a cement mortar, basically portland cement, sand and water. You can buy it by the bag or mix it yourself (I suggest buying by the bag). Since the metal lathe is already in place, your next step is the scratch coat. Mix the mortar in a wheelbarrow with the consistency of a thick milkshake and spread it over the lathe. Let it set up till firm then scratch the surface with the notched edge of the trowel. Let set overnight.
When applying the cultured stone, mix the mortar to the same thick milkshake-like consistency, butter the back of the stone, press firmly into the scratch coat and hold it a few moments, give it a final twist back and forth and remove your hand slowly. If the stone falls, the mortar is too thick, add a little water and try again. After the first few courses, you will see what kind of consistency works best. This is going to be messy, so cover any areas you don't want mortar on, with a tarp. And keep a stiff bristle brush handy to clean off the stones you've already laid (after they have set up sufficiently).
My suggestion is to do a small 5'x5' area first, let everything set up for a day or two, see how it turns out, then decide if you want to continue yourself or hire someone else.
