An engagement ring with a 1.3 carat diamond would be something I would expect to see on the hand of a woman whose fiance was financially well off. That would be easily a $10,000-$20,000 ring. If your fiance does not have the kind of job or financial circumstances that would allow him to purchase a ring in that price range, people will know it's fake. If you don't care what they think, then by all means, go for it. But it sounds like you DO care. I think you would be better off spending the money on a much smaller, good quality diamond, and then upgrading when you can afford it.

i wear a size six ring. my engagement ring is .3 carats. i wanted a very clear near perfect diamond and not a very big one. i got a smaller diamond b/c I thought it looked better on my hand. my diamond is a round cut. when I looked at another cut though I thought it needed to be 1 carat. I think you should just get what you want, maybe go to a jewelry store and try some on to see.

First let me say beautiful ring......and my pinkie finger is a size 6 (lol, I'm a retired baker so my hands are larger from years of kneeding dough) so....I put a gemstone ring that I own that's approximately the size of the diamonds in that ring.....looks fine to me........

Your total gemstone weight on that ring is 1.3 carats, that means each stone itself is less than a full carat...I'm guessing the largest stone is about 1/2 ct and the side stones are a wee bit more that 1/4 ct each....based on my guestimate I'd say the ring is perfect for your size.....and 'east to west' or side by side designs have the same impact as large stones or 'north to south' settings without the bulk, and are especially flattering on a smaller hand....so I'd say don't worry...good luck.

Edit: moissanite is not cheap, it runs about 500 US dollars per 1/2 carat..it can be off color (greenish or grayish) so I would examine a moissanite first hand (pun intended lol) before buying....and it is a gemstone in it's own right, not a 'fake' diamond after all, are white sapphires fake diamonds?.....the smaller the diamond 'substitute' the more diamond-like it looks so your ring will not look fake at all, especially since it isn't fake, it's a moissainte. On the moh scale of hardeness diamonds are a 10, moissanite are 9.25, the next hardest are sapphires at 9...I would buy a white sapphire before a white topaz because it's more durable (topaz runs about an 8 on the moh scale along with peridots and I believe garnets thus requires more care in wearing)

I don't think that setting w/a total weight of 1.3 will look to big at all!! Now, if it where a solitaire1.3ct it could possibly, but I think since it's more of a 3-stone look that it will be fine.

You do realize this is NOT a Diamond - therefore the great price.

Also, it's not too big. Danni is wrong when she says that over 2 carats is too big. Maybe over 5 carats. I saw someone with a 7 carat ring that looked stupid.

The 1.3 carats are spread out over a few stones so the size is fine.

I'm a ring size 6 and 3/4 and my center stone is a 2.5 carat aquamarine, which I think is gigantic (its what my fiance picked!!) but I've gotten used to it.

My only comment is that I think that ring is really overpriced. Moissanite isn't a diamond - it is a gemstone - and that price tag is crazy for it! Also, moissanite is very often created, meaning its lab-made and not mined from the ground.

As an alternative, here is a very pretty 1.7 carat total white topaz ring set in 14k gold for UNDER $500:

that is a nice ring . I am not into big Diamonds. I am glad mine is only 1/4 of a carrot with 4 small diamonds on each side. I didn't even want a diamond engagement ring.

The ring is pretty but a bit much for my style. As mentioned before it is not a diamond ring...rather a different stone that has similar properties to that of a diamond. It does look showy but many brides like that. It also does say it has Rhodium which is a finish put on the metal to make it look shinier. Rhodium wears off over time and if the quality of metal under it is poor...the ring will look dull. I think they recommend redipping rhodium rings every 1-3 years for rings that get heavy wear....so that is a potential expense.

So if you don't want a diamond ring -then that is a good alternative. Price is a bit high for it not being a diamond in my opinion.

That's a lot of bling; I'm a mature woman and wouldn't even want to wear that. Plus, I'm not sure of that price for a used ring.
For a similar price or less, you can get real diamonds as well (funny that you said you didn't want it to look like it's fake...)

You're getting married and you love him -show it off!! lol Don't let other people's opinion of the ring on your finger bother you. It's a symbol of his love for you. My fiance supprised me with a 1.5 diamond ring (large diamond in the middle with six smaller ones around the front of the band) and i'm also 19 with very small hands (size 4) and i absolutely love it.
